'Sansiri' Reveals Female Executive Ratio at 45%, Challenging the Stereotype of Real Estate as a Male-Dominated Field

Reinforcing the Organization's Vision for Equality

In recent years, the role of women has gained increased attention from the global community, creating turning points in various aspects of society. For example, 'Greta Thunberg', a 16-year-old activist, has fought against climate change and inspired millions to pay attention to pollution. Similarly, 'Jacinda Ardern', the third female Prime Minister of New Zealand, has received widespread praise for her handling of various crises, including the COVID-19 pandemic. Both are examples of influential women from around the world who seek to create change for a future of equality amidst the COVID-19 crisis, which has become a central theme for many global campaigns for International Women's Day 2021.

Sansiri, a leading developer in Thailand, emphasizes and supports the creation of equality, transcending gender differences through a culture of acceptance and opportunity. The company aims to elevate the role of women to be on par with all genders, pushing for women's leadership roles in the organization, including positions as board executives and senior and mid-level management. Currently, the company has a female executive ratio of up to 45%, playing a significant role in achieving a historic transfer record of Sansiri in 2020, amounting to 45 billion baht, changing the perception of leadership in the real estate business, which is often framed as a male domain.

Mr. Uthai Uthaisangsuak, CEO of Sansiri Public Company Limited, discussed the organization's vision for supporting and prioritizing equality. He noted that when it comes to the real estate business, most people perceive it as more suitable for men. However, the senior executives at Sansiri see it differently and have created a culture of acceptance and equal opportunity for everyone to demonstrate their potential. Sansiri is the first company in Thailand to sign the United Nations Global Standards of Conduct for Business, supporting an organizational culture that allows all genders and groups to feel included based on principles of diversity and equality.

“In addition to supporting equal rights and opportunities, reflected in the high ratio of female executives at 45%, we also have female C-Level executives, including one of the youngest female CFOs in Thailand and a member of the COVID Committee at Sansiri, who plays a crucial role in decision-making to help the organization navigate through the COVID-19 crisis, implementing policies to manage and reduce the risk of infection within the organization. Despite having over 1,200 employees at Sansiri and its subsidiaries, the number of infected employees at Sansiri Campus has remained zero to date,” Mr. Uthai stated.

During the recent crisis, the influential role and capabilities of women have been highlighted, both as frontline workers and leaders managing the COVID-19 response, such as those in New Zealand and Iceland, who have been praised for their effective handling of the outbreak. This has led to global recognition of women in creating a future of equality amidst the COVID-19 crisis, as seen in various prominent campaigns for International Women's Day 2021.

“Sansiri places great importance on creating a culture of equality, focusing on accepting differences in the workplace, as we believe this will unlock the potential for innovation and growth, allowing us to deliver positive outcomes to our customers, partners, employees, and society,” Mr. Uthai concluded.
